Job Description

As a Corporate Legal Consultant at RAYNE, you will assume pivotal legal positions within our clients’ organisations, offering expert legal guidance during key transitional phases. Whether acting as Corporate General Counsel or managing targeted legal assignments, your contributions will be essential in maintaining legal compliance and continuity. This role is ideal for experienced legal professionals who excel in fast-paced environments and seek flexible, short-term opportunities with prestigious firms in London.

Key Responsibilities

  • Function as a Corporate Legal Counsel or General Counsel, overseeing legal operations during periods of organisational change.

  • Deliver strategic legal counsel to clients from diverse industries, ensuring adherence to both local and international regulations.

  • Manage and supervise legal initiatives, including contract negotiations, litigation, mergers and acquisitions, and compliance with regulatory standards.

  • Collaborate with both internal and external legal teams to facilitate the achievement of client’s business objectives.

  • Conduct comprehensive legal research and prepare clear, concise legal documents and opinions.

  • Stay informed on current industry regulations and legal developments relevant to London and the UK.

  • Quickly acclimate to new environments and client requirements, providing high-quality legal services within demanding timelines.

Qualification Needed

Education and Experience:

  • Juris Doctor (JD), Bachelor of Laws (LLB), or equivalent degree from an accredited law school.

  • At least 5-7 years of legal practice experience, particularly in corporate law, commercial law, or general counsel positions.

  • Demonstrated expertise in Corporate Legal Consultant roles or similar temporary legal functions, especially within the UK or EU regions.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong leadership abilities and decision-making skills, with a proven track record in managing legal operations during transitional phases.

  • Comprehensive understanding of corporate governance, contract law, and regulatory compliance specific to London and the UK.

  • Ability to conduct thorough legal research and provide well-founded legal opinions.

  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage time effectively in a part-time capacity.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients and legal teams.

  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and commitment to delivering top-quality legal services.
